Dear Gorman, Frazier Park and Neenach Communities,
It is with much excitement and optimism that I write this welcome paragraph to the new and returning families of Gorman Elementary School. For those of you returning, you are well aware of the kind and caring school community Gorman creates. For those who are new to our school this year, I am confident you will find Gorman to be an outstanding school with many wonderful qualities that include nurturing staff, involved parents, engaging curriculum, and hardworking students. I know it will be a great year of learning and caring for each other.
Your child’s education, safety, and well-being are our most important priorities at Gorman. Our teachers take time to get to know your child and create lessons that address the academic, social and emotional needs of all the students. Your child will enter a classroom where a sense of community is taught and developed. Gorman teachers truly believe that every student can achieve success. Our highest priority for the 2016-2017 school year is to promote increased levels of achievement in all of our students.
Instructionally, your child will be exposed to “Best Practices” for teaching. Your child will experience a variety of instructional methods including, direct-instruction, small-group, individual instruction, and cooperative learning. The grade-level teachers at Gorman work as a team and support each other through collaborative planning and lesson design. In short, your child is entering an excellent school where caring professionals are dedicated to meeting the needs of all the students in the classroom.
I want to recognize each of the classified staff members that work at our school. Their hard work and dedication makes our school run smoothly and efficiently.
I look forward to an exciting school year. The strength of our relationships with students, teachers, parents and community will launch our students toward their destiny of success and life-long learning.
